What is Parkour?

Parkour is a discipline of body and mind. It is a way of life where one tries to build him/herself physically fit and mentally strong to be able to overcome various obstacles in life. It involves discovering oneself and his/her limits and gradually training themselves for self development. It is a non-competitive activity and has no age specification/limit.

The Physical attribute of Parkour:

To a viewer, the goal of Parkour is to move from point A to point B across a landscape in the fastest way possible. The practitioner uses the most efficient movements possible to cross obstacles. These movements include running, vaulting, rolling, climbing and jumping with great accuracy and control. Practitioners of Parkour are generally called traceurs. The word was coined as they ‘trace’ a path through an urban environment.

Parkour is by no means an ‘original’ art. It is derived from many disciplines and skillsets that have developed over millennia. Perhaps the most influential are the ‘Methode Naturelle’ way of physical training, Military obstacle course training, Gymnastics and the East Asian martial arts. Since most all of these disciplines included a philosophical point of view as part of their training, so does Parkour.

Perhaps the entire philosophy behind Parkour can be summed up in one small sentence. Be Strong To Be Useful.

What is Parkour Hyderabad?

Parkour Hyderabad is about Good Health, Fitness, Humility and Physical/Philosophical attributes of Parkour and it’s Training Methodologies. Having known this, one should know that we are not acrobats or stuntmen and we do not do it to impress anyone but oneself. Join us to build, collaborate and share knowledge with social networking capabilities in this site.

Do’s and Don’ts:


  • Condition.
  • Condition(If you didn’t hear me first time).
  • Train Safe Always.
  • Eat Healthy.
  • Listen to the advice of experienced traceurs.
  • Stay in your Limits always.
  • Test surfaces you are unsure of.
  • Show respect and courtesy to all those around you.
  • Listen to people who take the time to help you train.  Soak it in like a “humble sponge.”
  • Politely educate those who misuse the terms “Parkour” “Traceur/Traceuse,” etc. over stunts and other non related performance arts.
  • Clean Up your mess everywhere and be responsible(Leave No Trace!)


  • Never try things that you are not yet built to do.
  • Never imitate videos or moves(please get inspired but train them gradually at your pace.)
  • Avoid roof tops. (We can still do everything at ground level that you do at roof tops.)
  • Don’t disturb public by running, vaulting or flipping over them.
  • Don’t break laws or disrespect private property.(No Trespassing!)
  • Don’t overdo. (Avoid large jumps and jumps off big heights.)
  • Never try to show off! (Remember we don’t do it to please someone.)

  • We do not belong and are not tied up with any adventure clubs.
  • We do not collect money from anyone in the form of membership fee.
  • We do not merchandise anything in the name of Parkour.
  • The site is totally free to use but please respect others privacy.
